What is "Self-fusing" Tape?

Self-fusing tape, also known as self-vulcanizing or self-amalgamating tape, refers to a special kind of tape that has no adhesive material. The name "self-fusing" implies an important property: the tape can only stick with itself, and will not adhere to anything else.

Why Do We Need 3M Self-Fusing Tape?

3M Self-fusing Tape uses nonflammable ethylene propylene rubber (EPR). The EPR tape has higher heat-resistance (About 130 ⁰C) than vinyl tape. This material is also highly ductile and can elongate up to ten times as much as original length.
