Tools Needed To Install RF Connector On The Feeder Cable

To install connector on the cable, we are going to need the following tools:

-          Saw

-          Dedicated feeder line knife

-          Spanner

-          Grease

Prepare The Cable

Here are some preparation works we need to do before cutting the feeder cable:

1. Unwind the feeder cable certain length at a time from the round plane

2. Cut a desired length of the cable with saw. Do not bend or twist feeder while sawing

3. Mark the separated cable with ID labels on both ends

Cutting The Feeder Cable And Installing RF Connectors

Sanyuan recommend you use dedicated installation tools for the easiest and safest installation. However, our patented connector design allows the use of most standard preparation tools. It is OK that you are not using dedicated installation tools, but you need to bear in mind that the distance between the outer sheath cut point and outer conductor cut point should be between 13-30mm. Here are the operation steps:

1.Use a knife to peel 40 mm of the outer sheath off the feeder line away from the port.

2.Align the primary blade of the dedicated feeder line knife with the top of an outer conductor corrugation. Rotate the knife to peel about 10 mm of the outer conductor off the feeder cable. (If the cut is not on the top of a conductor corrugation, cut a small piece of the center conductor align with the “missing” length to the top of a curve.)

3.Chamfer the center conductor. Clear burrs and fillings and have the cut trimmed.

4.Separate the connector. Apply a small amount of grease and insert the back nut on the cable.

5.“Click” the front part on the cable and screw the back nut against the front part as far as possible with bare hand.

6. Tighten the connector to mechanical stop with two spanners. Using one spanner to hold the connector, and screw the front part into the connector with another spanner. Tightly screw the connector down to complete the assembly. Keep the front part in the same position during this procedure.
