In Base Transceiver Station (BTS) construction, Grounding kit is an essential part that is usually installed on main feeder and antenna feeder to offer lightning protection. The installation of Sanyuan grounding kit is very easy.

Preparation of Grounding Kit Installation

Before Grounding Kit's installation, you are going to need following tools and materials:

-          Cable lubricant

-          Cutter

-          Ruler

-          Insulating gloves

-          Screwdriver

-          Marker

Start Installing Grounding Kit

Step one:

Always be cautious at work. Check your insulating gloves and wear them.

Step two:

Use your ruler to measure a 20 ~ 21 mm length at the place you want to install the grounding kit. Label this length on cable with your marker.

Step three:

Cut the marked 20 ~ 21 mm area with cutter carefully. ONLY cut off the sheath.

Step four:

Apply cable lubricant or apply the contact bar (for universal Grounding kit only) to the cut and to the Sanyuan grounding kit. Then insert the grounding kit on cable.

Step five:

Tighten the screw on grounding kit with your screwdriver. The installation is thus completed.

Safety note of Grounding Kit Installation

1. Avoid working in a cloudy or rainy day. The weather can change rapidly and a thundercloud can be deadly.

2. The grounding cable attached with the Sanyuan grounding kit must be fixed on a dedicated grounding bar.

3. BTS system construction usually requires at least three ground points outside the BTS cabinet, and one point inside the BTS cabinet. The ground point inside BTS cabinet and the ground points outside the BTS cabinet MUST NOT be connected. If they are connected by any means (include sharing a same grounding bar), the whole lightning protection will become ineffective.
