The threat of lightning starts when a thunderstorm closing in, peaks when the storm is overhead, and then gradually vanishes as the storm moves away. If you are at the top of a tall building construction site and see thunderstorm coming, you need to leave immediately, because the evacuation window may be closing in a few minutes.

How to Avoid Lightning Strikes on Tall Building Construction Site

1. Hours before lightning strike

If you have protective shoes and clothing, wear them immediately. You may also wear non-conductive gloves and professional body suits, to make sure you stay protected as safe as possible. If you do not have it, back to the indoors and await further instruction. If you have received Red or Orange warning from local agency, stop working and get down immediately.

2. Minutes before lightning strike  

If you have already seen a large thundercloud and start hearing thunder or smelling ozone (like swimming pool), stop everything and run as fast you can down the building.

3. Seconds before lightning strike

Quickly scan your surrounding for enclosed structures like a temporary hut or container. Run for it with all your strength. If it is nothing there, start running and jumping, then pray for miracle to happen.
