★ N Type Rf Surge Arrester Work Principle

1. Gas tube discharger type

Gas tube discharger (GDT) can dissipate voltage transients through a tube of plasma gas. They have high insulation resistance, low capacitance, and leakage to ensure minimal lightning surge is leaked to the equipment. The rf surge arrester made with GDT has a very short response time and a wide bandwidth of current frequency.

2. λ/4 (Quarter Wave) Shorting Stub type

The quarter wave type rf surge arrester utilizes the large frequency gap between lightning surge and normal operating current, uses a stub that is a quarter of the operating wave's length, which allows the normal operating current to pass, while guiding the low frequency lightning surge to the ground. This type of surge arrester has a very high endurance against lightning surge, and do not need to change any component.
